Incheon Airport to Seoul at Night: Late-Night Bus Routes, Fares, and Where to Board

Arriving at Incheon Airport after midnight can make getting into Seoul a little tricky. The late-night airport buses, including the N6000, N6002, N6701, and N6703, are a relatively affordable option, with adult fares ranging from 17,000 to 18,000 won. The AREX train and most regular airport buses stop running around midnight or earlier, so these night routes are worth knowing about if you have a late flight.

Which Night Bus Goes Where?

Each route serves a different part of Seoul, so the best one depends on where you’re staying. The travel times below are scheduled estimates from Terminal 1, based on Incheon Airport’s route information.

If you’re staying near Hongdae, the N6002 is worth looking at. For Gangnam, check the N6000, while the N6703 serves the COEX and Jamsil areas. The N6701 is an option if you’re staying near Seoul Station, Euljiro, or Dongdaemun.

Keep in mind that the final bus stop may still be some distance from your hotel. You might need to walk or take a short taxi ride for the last part of the journey. If you’re arriving at your accommodation around 2 a.m., it’s a good idea to contact the hotel in advance and confirm that late-night check-in is available.

Where to Catch the Bus at T1 and T2

At Terminal 1, the buses depart from the first-floor arrivals level. The N6000 and N6002 use bus stop 6A, while the N6701 and N6703 use stop 3.

At Terminal 2, the buses depart from the Transportation Center on B1. Since stop numbers can differ by route, check the signs and departure boards at the airport when you arrive.

If you’re boarding at Terminal 2, the bus will stop at Terminal 1 before continuing toward Seoul. The journey between the two terminals takes about 20 minutes, so allow for that extra time when planning your trip.

Buying a Ticket

You can buy tickets at the airport’s ticket booths or automated ticket machines. Tickets for the N6701 and N6703 are also available through the Tmoney GO app. If you don’t already have the app set up, buying a ticket at the airport may be easier after a long flight.

Both ticket booths and machines accept cards. Payment options on the bus can vary by route, so buying your ticket in advance is the safer choice.

What If You Miss the Bus?

Late-night buses don’t necessarily run at short intervals. Depending on the route and departure time, you could end up waiting quite a while for the next one.

For example, one N6703 timetable I checked showed a departure at 1:25 a.m. and the next at 3:30 a.m. That’s a long wait if you’ve just come off an international flight.

Check the latest schedules on the official Incheon Airport website before you travel. Timetables can change, and you don’t want to rely on an outdated departure time.

Also, allow enough time to get through immigration and collect your luggage. A flight landing at 11 p.m. doesn’t mean you’ll be ready to board a bus at 11:30 p.m. If you need to buy a SIM card or exchange money, that can add even more time.

Other Options If the Bus Doesn’t Work Out

Take a taxi. Taxis are available at the airport, but late-night surcharges can make the trip considerably more expensive than taking the bus. According to the NOL guide I checked, the late-night surcharge is 20% from 10 to 11 p.m., 40% from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., and 20% from 2 to 4 a.m. Additional surcharges may apply depending on the trip, and tolls are extra.

A taxi may make more sense if you’re traveling with three or four people and can split the fare, or if you have several large suitcases. Check the expected fare before setting off.

Stay at the airport until morning. If you’d rather not travel across Seoul in the middle of the night, you can wait for the first train or regular airport bus. Darakhyu, a capsule-style transit hotel at Incheon Airport, is another option to consider. Check its current prices and availability before making plans.

If your flight arrives late at night, it’s worth checking the bus timetable before you leave home. Knowing which stop to use and how long you might have to wait can make the trip into Seoul much easier to plan.
