Pace: Seoul moves fast, almost nonstop. Busan feels calmer, especially near the coast.
Best For: Seoul suits shopping, nightlife, and K-culture fans. Busan suits beach lovers, hikers, and families.
Travel Time: Seoul to Busan takes about 2.5 hours by KTX train. Many travelers actually combine both cities in one trip.

My Honest Recommendation
If you only have five to seven days, visit Seoul first. It is easier to navigate and closer to the main airport.
But do not skip Busan if your trip is longer than a week. Take the KTX train down for two or three days.
I have watched countless travelers regret skipping Busan entirely. Do not make that same mistake yourself.
There is no wrong answer here, honestly. Both cities show a completely different side of Korea.
Seoul gives you energy, history, and modern culture packed into one place. Busan gives you the ocean, seafood, and a slower rhythm you will remember.
